COLLEGE OF SOCIAL WORK (No. 2)

That this House notes with concern the issues raised by the British Association of Social Workers in respect of the proper establishment and appropriate use of public funds in relation to the establishment of a College of Social Work; further notes the failure to tender for the 5 million contract awarded to the Social Care Institute for Excellence; further notes the failure to tender for trade union services agreed on an unknown basis with Unison; notes with concern the awarding of a contract to administer the 25 million per annum Social Work Education Grant to the College without any tendering process;urges the Government to act immediately to place the College on an ethical and sustainable footing; andcalls for an inquiry into the matter.
