CLEARANCE OF THE ILLEGAL DALE FARM TRAVELLER SITE

That this House pays tribute to and congratulates Basildon Council, the bailiffs, the police and all other emergency services and agencies on their professionalism whilst clearing the illegal Dale Farm Traveller site, in spite of the extreme provocation and violence from those resisting the operation; thanks local residents for their support for the Councilin upholding the law; and acknowledges that the human rights of the law-abiding majority include an expectation that the law is applied fairly and equitably without exception.
