MARGARET THATCHER AND THE SINGLE CURRENCY

Tabled by David Morris (Conservative) 5 signatures

The motion

That this House notes that 21 years ago Margaret Thatcher was forced out of office; further notes that her opposition to a Single European Currency was a major contributing factor to her downfall; agrees with her dislike of undemocratic European structures; laments that many of her predictions about Economic and Monetary Union were ignored but were also proved to be right; thanks Margaret Thatcher for sacrificing her own Premiership to stand up for Britain; and calls on the Government to be inspired by her hard work and the determination in our fight to repatriate powers from Brussels.
