FUEL PRICES AND DUTY (No. 2)

Tabled by Robert Halfon (Conservative) 6 signatures

The motion

leave out from `prices' to end and add `notes that a motorist on average earnings pays up to a 10th of their income on filling up their car; further notes that a VAT cut is temporary and unfunded and that fuel tax is 10 pence lower than it would have been due to the actions of the coalition Government; further recognises a VAT cut would make no difference to most businesses as they are exempt from VAT; and urges the Government to stop the planned August fuel tax rise, look to cutting fuel taxes when financial conditions allow and introduce a fair fuel stabiliser which would reduce taxes when pump prices rise due to increases in international oil prices.'.
