SUCCESSION TO THE CROWN

That this House congratulates the Swedish royal family on the birth of Princess Estelle Silvia Ewa Mary, daughter of Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel; is pleased that Princess Estelle is now second in line to the throne following changes to make Sweden's primogeniture laws equal; is concerned that under current UK laws if HRH Prince William and HRH Princess Catherine's first child is female she will not necessarily be first in line if they later have a male child; is worried that the working group agreed on at the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in Perth in October 2011 to change the rules of succession appears to have made little progress; and calls on the Government in Commonwealth Week to agree on a roadmap for change.
