The motion
at end add `further notes that the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists, the professional body and trade union for the UK's 10,000 podiatrists, wholeheartedly supports Diabetes UK's excellent Putting Feet First campaign; further notes that in addition to 26 per cent of hospitals lacking an in-house podiatry service, there is also wide variation in numbers of NHS podiatrists per head of population with instances of high incidence of amputation and low staffing levels; and further calls on these workforce factors to be part of a Department of Health review of NHS diabetes efforts to improve service provision including reductions in the wide variation in minor and major amputations.'.
