MEN'S HEALTH WEEK 2012

That this House celebrates Men's Health Week 2012; welcomes events taking place across the UK to raise awareness of preventable health problems; notes with concern that men are far less likely to access health services than women; further notes that three times as many men as women die from heart disease before their 75th birthday; congratulates local pharmacies, such as Barnton pharmacy in Edinburgh West constituency, and organisations which provide free tests such as heart screening and blood pressure, as well as giving advice on reducing risk of illness and improving health; and encourages men to seek regular medical advice and early treatment for any medical concerns.
