SELECT COMMITTEE CHAIRMANSHIPS

The motion
That this House believes that elections to chairmanships of select committees have been a worthwhile reform; regrets that the choices in many instances were limited to a small number of candidates; and further believes that, at the halfway point of the present Parliament, new elections should be held to refresh the work of committees by allowing new candidates to offer their services and to either confirm the appointments of present chairs or to elect new ones.
