HILLSBOROUGH DISASTER (COMMENTS BY COUNCILLOR ROGER TAYLOR)

Tabled by George Galloway (Workers Party of Britain) 1 signatures

The motion

That this House condemns the grossly offensive comments by Calderdale Conservative councillor Roger Taylor that the Hillsborough tragedy report is `overloaded with politically correct language rather like the Stephen Lawrence inquiry (a joke in itself) was'; congratulates the bereaved families of the 96 for their 23-year-campaign to bring the truth out; notes that the Macpherson Report into the killing of Stephen Lawrence found that institutional racism in the Metropolitan Police hindered the pursuit of justice; and calls on the Conservative Party to show its disgust at Councillor Taylor's comments by throwing him out of the party.
