CALDICOT AND WENTLOOGE LEVELS DRAINAGE BOARD

That this House congratulates whistleblowers and the Wales Audit Office for revealing the scandalous abuses of the Governance of the Caldicot and Wentlooge Internal Drainage Board; urges the resignation of complicit members of the board and urgent action to recoup the sums of 100,000 unlawfully claimed by board staff; is shocked by evidence of decades of cronyism when board members and staff forgot their duty to serve the public and ran the board as a private fiefdom; and urges radical action to remove the three Welsh boards from local control and further urges English authorities to conduct audits of the hundred similar bodies in England.
