The motion
That this House regrets that footballer John Terry has retained his captaincy of Chelsea Football Club despite being sanctioned by the Football Association for racially abusing another player in November 2011; notes Chelsea Football Club's double standards by handing a lifetime ban to a fan for racially abusing a player earlier this year; expresses concern that John Terry's continued captaincy makes the commendable work of Bradford organisations such as Sports Campaign Against Racism more difficult; and calls for Chelsea Football Club to match its professed zero-tolerance approach to racism with action by stripping John Terry of his captaincy.
