That this House recognises, notwithstanding the current difficult challenges faced by the BBC and its unqualified willingness to accept full responsibility, that the corporation has over the years made a truly remarkable and irreplaceable contribution to British life; notes that no other country enjoys a public broadcaster of this standing; and urges the BBC Board of Trustees to move expeditiously to restore the standards the public expects from the BBC.
