The motion
That this House commemorates 27 November as the day Lancashire's first elected representatives were summoned to Westminster by King Edward I for the Model Parliament in 1295; notes that this day, Lancashire Day, shall ever mark the peoples' pleasure in that excellent distinction, true Lancastrians, proud of the Red Rose and loyal to their Sovereign Duke; and further notes the success of the second annual Lancashire Day in Parliament event, which was hosted by the county's 16 Members of Parliament and supported by Lancashire County Council.
