PYLONS ACROSS NORTH WEST WALES

That this House notes that the National Grid is consulting on a new connection between Wylfa, Ynys Môn and Pentir in Gwynedd; believes that it is in the interests of the residents of north west Wales, visitors to the area and the Welsh tourism industry that this connection be under the sea; further notes the visual damage that an aerial connection would cause to the iconic landscapes of Gwynedd and Ynys Môn, including to areas in Eryri/Snowdonia, Afon Menai/the Menai Straits and including areas of outstanding natural beauty; and calls on the National Grid to identify an undersea connection as their preferred choice.
