SOCIAL CARE GUIDANCE CHANGES

Tabled by Sir Alan Meale (Labour) 7 signatures

The motion

That this House understands that there currently are around 4,000 children in the UK who are deafblind, suffering a range of sensory impairments and who consequently have very specialist needs including assessments and essential support and equipment; is aware of the Government's intention to create a single statute for adult social care law via its announced intention to pursue a new Care and Support Bill in its programme; and is therefore alarmed that in doing so it intends to make progress by pursuing the rapid abolition of statutory guidance for care which currently includes that available for children and which may in consequence cause great difficulties for those in need of such highly effective avenues of help.
