BRADFORD ODEON (No. 2)
Tabled by George Galloway (Workers Party of Britain)

The motion
That this House very much welcomes the report that the former Odeon building and the old police station in Bradford can be saved and these iconic buildings developed if essential health and safety and maintenance works costing £4.1 million are carried out; realises that because of local government cutbacks City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council would find it almost impossible to fund the repairs; and calls on the current owners of the buildings, the Homes and Communities Agency, to bear the full cost of the repairs and then to meet its commitment to sell the properties to the local authority for £2.
