DIABETES UK — TYPE 1 ESSENTIALS FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE

That this House welcomes the launch of the Diabetes UK's new campaign, Type 1 essentials for children and young people, with the condition; notes that a guide has been produced to assist parents with the appropriate levels of care their children should be receiving; is concerned that only six per cent of children and young people with diabetes are recorded as receiving the recommended care processes to which they are entitled; and calls on the Department of Health to introduce guidelines for clinical commissioning groups on the recommended levels of care and the recording of care for children with Type 1 diabetes.
