The motion
That this House notes the awakening among the English media and politicians to the Scottish question on the political agenda; notes that they are some 10 years behind in the discovery of the vibrancy of the Scottish urge for self-government; advises them to do some fast homework and realise that there is a growing tide towards independence for Scotland; further advises them to make accurate calculations before asserting that Scotland is a subsidy junkie, especially in view of the fact that English Tory victories in the 1980s were floated on the ú100 billion taken south from Scottish oil wealth; nevertheless welcomes their calls for a referendum; and looks forward to it being won by the Scottish National Party's policy of independence in Europe which will of course also produce home rule for England.
