EBOLA IN SIERRA LEONE AND THE ARMED FORCES

That this House is aware of the outstanding role being played by members of Britain's armed forces, in particular soldiers from the Royal Army Medical Corps operating in Sierra Leone as part of the UK's response to the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, who are helping train local people to tackle this terrifying disease; and notes that so far their missions have managed to build a treatment facility in Kerry Town involving hundreds of tonnes of equipment, provided vehicles to move patients and staff around the affected areas, established a facility medical centre housing blood banks, plasma freezers, centrifuges and safety handling uniforms and also engaged military staff to act with medical experts to help fight the outbreak.
