The motion
That this House welcomes the recent commitment of Premier League football clubs to pay the living wage to all full-time employees; notes that the average salary of a Premier League footballer is over £40,000 per week but that many Premier League football clubs still do not pay all contracted and subcontracted staff the living wage; encourages other football clubs to follow a well-known London club's lead in becoming an accredited living wage employer; applauds the work of Citizens UK and other campaigners fighting for the living wage; and calls on the Government to work with all employers to ensure that employees are paid enough to meet the basic costs of living.
