USE OF THE TERM EUROPEAN UNION

Tabled by Kelvin Hopkins (Independent) 19 signatures

The motion

That this House deprecates the frequent use of the term Europe when what is meant is the European Union; considers Europe to be a wonderful continent of great nations and great peoples, of great beauty and culture, and that the European Union is simply a political structure covering many of the countries of Europe; and therefore urges that in all governmental offices and documentation the term European Union should be used whenever appropriate, and specifically that, among other changes, the Minister for Europe should be designated the Minister for the European Union.
