COALYARD TEAROOM, LARKHALL

That this House condemns South Lanarkshire Council's proposal to shut The Coalyard tearoom in Larkhall; notes that the project helps those with additional support needs learn skills which will prepare them for employment, as well as develop skills for everyday living; acknowledges Larkhall Community Council's efforts to keep The Coalyard open, including gathering over 2,000 signatures from local residents; recognises the value the project has to the community and the potential impact of its closure; and urges South Lanarkshire Council to look at its proposals afresh and continue to invest in this worthy project.
