The motion
That this House notes that the Secretary of State for Defence has so far not taken account of reasonable requests for carrying out an economic impact assessment on the effect of the proposed Ministry of Defence (MoD) byelaw changes to the inner sound in the north west of Scotland that will close off valuable fishing grounds; further notes that a request from a project group of the MoD, BUTEC, and fishing interests have also been ignored; concludes that the MoD does not recognise legitimate local interests to the extent that it appears uncompromising in its imperial attitude; and calls on the Government to address these legitimate concerns.
