SELF-MANAGEMENT OF MUSCULOSKELETAL DISORDERS

That this House welcomes the launch of the care co-ordinating guide, My Plan for My Life With..., which is designed to support and empower people with chronic musculoskeletal conditions to manage their condition better and to feel more in control of their care; commends the work of the organisations involved in its development, including the Fit for Work UK Coalition, Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Alliance, Arthritis Care, BackCare, British Society for Rheumatology, Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, College of Medicine, National Ankylosing Spondylitis Society, National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society, Neil Betteridge Associates, Patient Information Forum, Royal College of General Practitioners and the Work Foundation; and recognises the benefits that supported self-management can bring both to people living with long-term conditions and the NHS as a whole.
