EU ANNUAL NEGOTIATIONS ON FISHERIES

That this House notes the outcome of the Annual EU Fisheries negotiations in Brussels which were completed on 16 December 2015 for fish species quota allocations; welcomes the increase in fish quota allocations for Area V11 (Irish Sea) nephrops and Area V11A (Irish Sea) haddock; regrets the reductions for cod and hake fish species in Area V11A (Irish Sea); and urges the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and her ministerial team to continue working with the devolved administrations, the fish producer organisations and the EU to obtain a better quota deal for the whitefish sector in the Irish Sea.
