TRADE IN SERVICES AGREEMENT AND PARLIAMENTARY SCRUTINY

That this House notes the Trade in Services Agreement is currently being negotiated at EU level, and that a range of concerns have been raised publicly at the content of this agreement; further notes that the negotiations regarding this proposal have been carried out in an opaque manner, and so believes that trade deals should not be negotiated without their terms being open to view by UK citizens, and deals should not be signed without explicit Parliamentary consent; and further calls on the Government to insist that the full terms of this treaty are published and subject to a vote in Parliament before ratification.
