UK BORDER FORCE INSPECTIONS AT SMALL PORTS AND AIRPORTS

Tabled by Lord Hanson of Flint (Labour) 17 signatures

The motion

That this House is deeply concerned about the lack of inspections undertaken by the UK Border Force at small ports and airports with as many as 67,500 small boats and aircraft entering the UK each year without being met by border staff; is concerned that organised criminals will be able to exploit this gap in the UK's border security and allow the illegal import of drugs and weapons; and urges the Government to introduce random checks at these ports and airports to ensure that the UK's borders are secure.
