PREVENTION OF INCITEMENT TO SEXUAL CRIME AND VIOLENCE

Tabled by Tommy Sheppard (Scottish National Party) 49 signatures

The motion

That this House strongly condemns what it understands is the organisation of sexist and hate-mongering meetings across the UK by so-called pick-up artist Roosh V; believes that these meetings are misogynistic and that such behaviour is not tolerable in modern day society; affirms that there is never an argument to advocate rape; further believes that, while women keep being taught to avoid sexual assault, not enough is done to educate those men who may become predators; welcomes the work of police forces across the UK, including Police Scotland, to raise awareness of sexual crime; considers that sexual and violent speeches are clear acts of incitement that must not be tolerated by the law; and calls for action to be taken.
