BEFRIENDING SERVICES FOR YOUNG CARERS

That this House recognises the needs of younger carers who may struggle to balance caring with education, financial responsibilities and emotional well-being; appreciates the benefits young carers gain from the practical and emotional support given through befriending services; acknowledges the valuable work undertaken in supporting young carers by a range of voluntary organisations across the UK; and congratulates Unity Enterprise on its successful application for a Young Start grant of £49,880 to deliver a befriending service for young carers in Ayrshire.
