The motion
That this House rejects the comments made by Charlie Stillitano, Chairman of Relevent Sports, that the largest five teams in British football should be given a permanent place in the Champions League in a modified closed system; notes the regrettably blasé comments by Mr Stillitano about historic football clubs such as Leicester City; supports the continuation of the current system where football clubs like Leicester City have an equal opportunity with any other Premier League team to challenge for a place in the Champions League; and believes that the financial considerations of a small number of football clubs should never be the basis of major structural changes to the footballing system.
