FIFE CARERS CENTRE

That this House congratulates Fife Carers Centre on its recent award of £253,709 from the Big Lottery Fund's Investing in Communities: 21st Century Life programme; recognises that the funding will assist the Centre in delivering its Carers in Charge programme, which helps carers cope with their role, enhances family and community relationships and aims to reduce financial stress; acknowledges that this programme will support an estimated 1,500 carers in and around Fife, and will further assist them in linking better into their local communities; notes that this funding is intended to tackle disadvantage, to address inequalities and to help individuals, families and communities who are in greatest need in challenging times; and looks forward to this funding providing a valuable form of assistance to Fife Carers Centre and those whom it supports.
