INTRODUCTION OF A SUGAR TAX

That this House welcomes the Chancellor of the Exchequer’s announcement in the Budget Statement of the introduction of a sugar tax; considers the Responsibility Deal between manufacturers and the Department of Health to have failed; and calls on manufacturers and retailers to act and reduce sugar content in their products.
