BEITH COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TRUST - BIG LOTTERY FUND AWARD

That this House congratulates the Beith Community Development Trust (BCDT), in Beith, North Ayrshire, for being awarded £150,000 from the Big Lottery Fund in March 2016, as part of the Medium Grants Scotland programme; commends the work of the Big Lottery Fund, which assists a number of organisations in securing funding for a variety of projects and improvements, and also helps address inequalities in Scotland by supporting ordinary people to implement positive change in their communities; is delighted that this five-year grant will allow the BCDT to deliver a programme of community-led activities including workshops, events, courses, festivals and accredited opportunities, which will be available to people of all ages; recognises that over 500 people from the town of Beith are expected to be involved in this ambitious programme over a five year period; and wishes the Trust every success going forward.
