MILK DONATION DAY

That this House notes that Thursday 19 May is Milk Donation Day; appreciates that human breast milk donation has significant benefits, particularly for pre-term and vulnerable infants; understands that Scotland's nationwide donor breast milk bank service is recognised as a beacon of good practice in human milk banking; regrets that donor milk is not readily available across all parts of the UK; calls on the Government to invest in breast milk banking services; and commends staff, volunteers and donor mothers on their efforts to provide breast milk to as many infants as possible.
