HAMILTON ACADEMICAL AND TOP FLIGHT STATUS

That this House congratulates Hamilton Academical FC for retaining their top flight status in the Scottish Premiership, extending their stay in Scotland's top division since 2014; notes that Hamilton Accies remain one of Scotland's elite youth academies, producing the likes of internationals such as James McArthur and James McCarthy, giving young players the opportunity to progress in the professional game; welcomes the unique community outreach programmes engaged by Hamilton Academical, working with and supporting the community, including the disadvantaged, those with additional support needs and the vulnerable; and applauds the tremendous work done by the staff, players and board of Hamilton FC, who have successfully implemented a social responsibiliyu ethos through the fabric of the club, placing themselves at the very heart of the community of Hamilton.
