EAST KILBRIDE REFEREE AND EURO 2016

That this House congratulates referee Bobby Madden from East Kilbride in being selected as part of the Scottish Football Association (SFA) officiating team at the UEFA Euro 2016 Football Championships in France; notes that he is part of a strong Scottish presence at the tournament; welcomes the UEFA recognition of Scottish strength in this field; wishes him and the SFA team a controversy-free refereeing experience; and hopes the achievement encourages other young Scots to enter and excel in a discipline which promotes an active lifestyle and its associated health benefits.
