RENT-TO-OWN RETAILERS

That this House notes the concerning lending practices of many rent-to-own retailers; considers that these retailers often target the most financially vulnerable families in local communities; shares the concerns of affected citizens who risk being driven further into long-term debt by the prospect of short-term lower prices for essential household goods; and calls on the Government to outline plans to regulate and curb opportunist profiteering at the expense of the poor by such companies.
