TESCO FARESHARE FOODCLOUD INITIATIVE - BARRHEAD

That this House welcomes the initiative introduced by Fareshare in partnership with Foodcloud which redistributes surplus food from Tesco stores to local charities and community groups; notes that the scheme enables local supermarkets to reduce food waste by redistributing surplus, unsold food to good causes in local communities; commends the staff and volunteers at Auchenback Resource Centre, who are working to ensure that the scheme benefits local people in Barrhead and East Renfrewshire; and looks forward to the roll-out of the scheme to supermarkets in Scotland and across the UK.
