TONGUE AND FARR SPORTS ASSOCIATION

That this House congratulates the Tongue and Farr Sports Association on its recent grant of £3,189 from the Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland; recognises that this community facility serves the Sutherland and Caithness areas with an aim of promoting healthy living and exercise to the benefit of local communities through various swimming and exercise classes and physical therapy services; notes that the facility runs a vital training centre for young people to maximise their potential and help them to find employment opportunities in the area and that the funding will be used to develop and expand exercise classes for the elderly and those with mobility issues in addition to training courses for the coaches; and commends all of the staff and volunteers of the leisure centre for their hard work and community spirit to provide a range of healthy living and well-being services for everyone in the local area.
