The motion
That this House believes that it is our duty to ensure that our OAPs live with dignity and security in their retirement; notes that the triple-lock state pension mechanism increases the basic state pension by growth in earnings, the CPI rate or by a minimum of 2.5 per cent; recognises the importance of triple-lock guarantee on pensions in securing a decent standard of living for those beyond working age; further notes and condemns the calls made by the Rt hon. Member for Chingford and Woodford Green recently in the media for the Government to scrap the triple-lock on pensions; and calls on the Government to continue the triple-lock on the basic state pension.
