APPOINTMENT OF A TRADE UNION REPRESENTATIVE TO THE MONETARY POLICY COMMITTEE OF THE BANK OF ENGLAND

Tabled by Lord Mann (Labour) 17 signatures

The motion

That this House notes that trade unions are not currently represented on either of the Bank of England's policy committees; believes that this lessens the ability of the Bank to fully understand and anticipate the UK economy; and therefore calls on the Government to appoint a trade union representative to the Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of England at the earliest opportunity.
