The motion
That this House notes that the Committee on Medical Effects of Pollution (COMEAP) has decided not to prioritise work on indoor air quality even though the World Health Organisation states that indoor air quality problems are five times worse than external air quality problems; further notes that this decision has been taken despite growing evidence that health problems are worsening due to increased air tightness in houses and greater levels of polluting materials used in their construction; and calls on the Government to ensure that COMEAP gives greater priority to consideration of indoor air quality standards and to reducing the levels of pollutants from modern construction materials.
