40TH ANNIVERSARY OF WOMEN'S AID IN CLACKMANNANSHIRE

That this House congratulates Clackmannanshire Women's Aid, which is celebrating 40 years of helping thousands of women and children who have suffered domestic abuse throughout Clackmannanshire; notes that over this 40 year period it has continued to tackle gender inequalities, challenged attitudes and has provided vital and continual support to women, children and young people who have suffered at the hands of domestic abuse; further notes that it has also emphasised raising awareness in local schools to spread the message to future generations; welcomes the fact that the organisation is celebrating 40 years by taking part in the 16 days of action against domestic violence campaign to highlight the work being done in Clackmannanshire on the issue of violence against women; and looks forward to many more years of good work for the people of Clackmannanshire.
