REOPENING OF GOVANHILL BATHS TEACHING POOL

That this House notes that the teaching pool in Govanhill Baths in Glasgow Central constituency has reopened after 16 years of campaigning by Govanhill Baths Trust; understands that the reopening of the teaching pool enables swimming lessons to be held in the baths for babies and children up to the age of five; believes that Govanhill Baths makes a substantial contribution to community life in Govanhill and that adding swimming lessons to the list of community projects demonstrates the importance of the baths as a community hub; and congratulates Govanhill Baths Trust on their campaign to restore swimming facilities to Govanhill Baths.
