SIEMENS RAIL AUTOMATION EXPANSION - GLASGOW EAST

That this House welcomes the expansion of Siemens Rail Automation in Glasgow East where a new depot has just opened; notes that Siemens has previously provided the signalling control systems for the Airdrie to Bathgate and Borders reinstatements; further notes that currently in Glasgow there are approximately 150 employees, including a talented team of apprentices and graduates; recognises that this new depot provides much potential for Glasgow East constituency and neighbouring areas for more employment and training opportunities; and commends the staff for securing these expansion plans and the opportunities that come with them for the people who reside in the city of Glasgow.
