STOKE-ON-TRENT AND CITY OF CULTURE 2021

That this House recognises the extraordinary culture and heritage of Stoke-on-Trent; notes the city's accomplishments in creative art and design, particularly in ceramics; further notes its ongoing contribution to British sports both as the European City of Sport 2016 and the home of Stoke City FC and Port Vale FC; acknowledges the superiority and versatility of the Staffordshire oatcake; believes that the unique nature of the six towns makes Stoke-on-Trent an invaluable asset to North Staffordshire and the UK; and calls on the Government to support Stoke-on-Trent's bid for City of Culture 2021.
