WORLD SCOTCH PIE CHAMPION 2017

That this House congratulates Brownings the Bakers of Kilmarnock on becoming the World Scotch Pie Champion of 2017; notes that Brownings the Bakers started in 1945 as a local family business in Kilmarnock and has grown into a well-known brand recognised for quality and their excellent Kilmarnock Pie; further notes that at the Scotch Pie championship that Brownings also won the Best Vegetarian Pie in Scotland category with their Sweet Potato and Lentil Korma Pie; welcomes the diversity and healthier ingredients initiatives; recognises that Brownings the Bakers took part in the recent Ayrshire Larder event, A Taste of Ayrshrie, held at Westminster to promote the Ayrshire Growth Deal; and understands that Brownings the Bakers is only one of the many local producers and distributors of food in Ayrshire making it a must visit destination for food lovers everywhere.
