LAUNCH OF STV2

The motion
That this House notes the launch of STV2, a new television channel operated by the STV Group, on 24 April 2017; understands that the channel has been created as a result of the demand for programming in the previous STV Glasgow and STV Edinburgh channels, combined with new licences for Aberdeen, Dundee and Ayr; further understands that STV2 will broadcast 24-hours a day, seven days a week and will host an hourly news bulletin at 7pm combining Scottish, UK and international stories in one show; believes that the launch of the channel demonstrates the vibrancy of the Scottish broadcasting sector; congratulates all at STV on the launch of STV2; and wishes all involved every success in the future.
