RELOCATION OF GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENTS
Tabled by Lord Mann (Labour)

The motion
That this House believes that the economic playing field is weighted heavily in favour of London and the South East; further believes that relocating government departments around the UK would start to address this imbalance; notes that doing so would bring jobs to areas that sorely need them and provide the Government with a more rounded perspective when creating policies; and calls on the Government to relocate departments to Bristol, Sheffield, Birmingham, Manchester, Nottingham, Newcastle, Leeds and Liverpool.
