DE MONTFORT UNIVERSITY GOLD STATUS

That this House notes the significance of the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) and endorses its assigning equal status to teaching and research at the UK's higher education institutions; congratulates institutions that have been awarded a Gold status, including De Montfort University in Leicester, whose Square Mile project has been recognised for making a significant contribution to the social and economic development of its city; welcomes the TEF's provision of benchmarked and split metrics to students and parents that matter most to them, including teaching quality, student satisfaction and employment outcomes; and commends its Vice-Chancellor Dominic Shellard and its excellent teaching staff for the work that they do.
